What exactly is Web 2.0?

Web 2.0 is the next generation of the Internet. 10 years ago the Internet was made up of mostly static websites, but today everything is mostly dynamic. With the explosion of social networking sites like MySpace and FaceBook, on-demand video like YouTube and MetaCafe and blogs are everywhere about everything.

On a side note, 24 hour news has also exploded, which is obviously killing the newspaper industry. The world as we know it has been changing and there is a lot more change to come.

Web 2.0 has changed the way we communicate and receive fresh content. Whether it is what our friends are doing today, what celebrities are up to, what breaking news is happening right now, the list goes on.

Web 2.0 sites allow users to interact, not just retrieve information. Software is developed so users can share information, participate in providing more data and have more control over data, instead of the previous limitations users had.

From YouTube to FaceBook to Twitter, this is the new Internet… the next boom is mobile. Soon, most of our web use and interaction will all be done right on our cell phones.
